Visiting a Counsellor for the first time can be a very scary experience, not knowing what to expect, what is the process involved? Will he/she be kind, will I feel comfortable, can I trust them? Will they tell someone? These are just a few of the many thoughts, feelings and emotions the individual goes through.
All the counselling sessions take place in private, comfortable surroundings on a one-to-one basis. The counsellor enables the client to explore personal concerns and life issues and find ways to resolve or manage them. This is done in an open, non-judgmental manner.
My name is Viv and I am an intergrative Counsellor - meaning I have experience of working with a variety of models in Counselling. I would describe myself first and for-most as an empowerment Counsellor. I have experience working with adult survivors of childhood abuse, mental, physical and sexual, depression, bereavement, divorce, domestic violence, family issues, lack of self esteem, lack of self confidence, autonomy issues. Or I simply provide a safe place if you need to talk over any issue that is troubling you.
I have worked with Clients within the age group of 18 yrs to 90 yrs.
The counselling room is booked on an hourly basis and situated in Clacton. The first session affords the opportunity for both parties to see if they feel comfortable working together.
